Staging choreographed combat and staging intimacy share similar techniques, but they also have significant differences. This workshop builds on TIE’s Consent and Boundary practices and skills learned from the Best Practices and Intimacy Choreography for Theatre workshops. Attendees will learn the background and basic best practices for stage combat and how to approach pre-production, rehearsal staging, performance, and documentation. Each participant will walk away with a better understanding of how to efficiently stage formalized, repeatable violence choreography mixed with pedestrian intimacy movement while respecting boundaries.

Space in Digital Workshops is limited to ensure the best experience for our participants. Workshops are live; we currently do not offer workshop recordings. There is no waitlist for Digital Workshops. Classes are first-come, first-serve, and class sizes are limited to maintain educational quality.

The Best Practices Digital Workshop or a comprehensive TIE workshop (e.g., Workshop Weekend) is a prerequisite for most other Theatrical Intimacy Education Digital Workshops. This ensures that all participants are conversant in TIE's specific approach and vocabulary, ensuring educational quality for all participants.
